Signature displays after customer signs on screen

High Impact

Depending on your settings, you may now see your customer’s signature display from your merchant-facing device. There are many different settings that you could select from (such as signing on paper vs. signing on-screen, adding tip on paper vs. adding tip on-screen, skip receipt screen, etc.).

Here is what you could expect if you selected for customers to sign on-screen and are taking a payment that requires a signature:

From Register app register-app-icon

  • If you enabled entering tips on-screen, then the receipt screen with a “Verify Signature” button will show. You will see this screen even if you opted to skip receipt screen.

  • If you disabled entering tips on-screen, then you should have had a chance to verify the signature prior. Therefore, you will not see the “Verify Signature” option again on the receipt screen. You will not see the receipt screen if you opted to skip receipt screen.

From Sale app Sale app icon –

  • If you enabled entering tips on-screen, then your customer’s signature and the receipt screen with a “Reject Signature” button will show. You will see this screen even if you opted to skip receipt screen.

  • If you disabled entering tips on-screen, then you should have had a chance to verify the signature prior. Therefore, you will not see the signature on the receipt screen. You will not see the receipt screen if you opted to skip receipt screen.
  • If the customer selects to split a payment, then you will see multiple signatures (if required) and payments associated with the initial payment. You will see this screen even if you opted to skip receipt screen.
