Adding option to report sales and refunds at the time of transaction

We are adding the option to choose whether sales or refunds are reported in Reporting app  > Items at the time the order was created or at the time the transaction (sale or refund) was made. The options are in the Report item sale or refund dropdown menu in Web Dashboard Setup app  > Reporting.

Previously, transactions were reported only at the time the order was created. The default setting is to report item sale or refund When order is created.

This means an order that was created on Monday but paid for on Wednesday will be reported as sold on Monday. If you refund the order on Wednesday, the reported refund date will still be Monday. Choosing When the payment or refund is made will report the item sale and refund date as Wednesday instead of Monday.

Note

Choosing When the payment or refund is made affects all items on the report, including previously reported items.

To change the reported time of item sales and refunds:

  1. Open Setup app 
  2. Click Reporting
  3. Click the Report item sale or refund dropdown menu
  4. Select one of the options:
    • Select When order is created to have items reported as sold or refunded when the order is created
    • Select When payment or refund is made to have items reported as sold or refunded when the payment or refund is made
  5. Click Save
